Up for auction is a single Gorham Sterling Silver snap top Match Case Vesta made in 1911.
The case is in fantastic condition with no monograms.
There is one small, hardly noticeable, dent on the side of the lid (which can be seen in the close up picture where the lid is open and pointing vertical).
Researching the silver makers marks (Lion, Anchor, Gothic Script "G") I determined Gorham Silver Co. is the Maker.
The small pipe is Gorham's year mark stamp for 1911.
As you can see the Makers marks, Sterling and R1145 is stamped on one side of the rim.
On the other side of the rim is "Pat. 1910" and then the "Pipe year mark stamp".
The piece weighs 22 grams, and is approximately 2 1/2 inches long.
The lid snap is crisp and the hinge is strong with no wiggle.
This is a beautiful piece of silver, that has stood the test of time, get into your collection!
What you see pictured is exactly what you will receive.

    From the internet....
The company moved into a new headquarters in Providence, RI in 1890 as employment surpassed 500, and in 1905 they opened a retail outlet on Fifth Avenue in New York City. Throughout the latter half of the 19th century and into the 20th, Gorham attracted some of the best designers and silver artisans in the world.
Their rapidly expanding business of doing one-of-a-kind pieces on commission for major world figures and events expanded their profile and introduced Gorham to an international clientele.
