Art Nouveau English Sterling Silver Engraved Cigarette Case, c. 1901

This listing is for a lovely Art Nouveau English Sterling Silver cigarette case. The case is decorated with an engraved stylized floral design on both sides with a fancy cartouche on one side. The cartouche is engraved with a fancy monogram that is so elaborately decorated that I am unable to make out the initials. Case has a gold washed interior with elastic support on each side to hold in cigarettes. Marked on the interior with English hallmarks for Birmingham, Sterling, date code for 1901 and with maker's stamp for Joseph Gloster.
Measures 3 1/2" long, 2 1/2" wide (not including clasp) and 1/2" deep. Weighs 85 grams.
This nice case is in very good to excellent Estate condition. The hinge is tight and secure although the case doesn't close tightly. This can most likely be adjusted, however, we will leave this to the new owner.
