Description

Carousel Horse Allan Herschell Outside Row Large Trojan "King" horse with beautiful tassel. Circa 1915-1925, Tonawanda, NY. Originally from a travelling carousel in Philadelphia.  Purchased unrestored from Gray Tuttle. Complete wood and paint restoration in 1995 by Allen Hess. It has the original metal horse shoes. Measures 57" overall, 38" chest to rump. A real piece of history. Comes with very sturdy oak base and brass pole. On the bottom of the horse are carved the Roman Numerals "XXI", which indicated the position of the horse on the carousel. Local pick up. Down sizing, so some of my treasures must go!
