EAPG glass NEW CRESCENT open COMPOTE Diamond Point Discs BRYCE HIGBEE 1896 tazza

Description

Offered for sale is a beautiful antique OPEN COMPOTE or TAZZA made by Bryce Higbee & Co.  It has the NEW CRESCENT pattern (AKA Diamond Point Discs).   It is made of clear glass with a repeating pattern of diamond-patterned circles and fine-lined crescents.  It ihas a wide scalloped rim, and the hollow stem was joined to the bowl with a molten-glass wafer when it was made.  The New Crescent pattern was introduced in 1896.
The compote measures 8 3/4 inches (22.2cm) in diameter, and stands 4 1/2 inches (11.4cm) tall to the rim.  A U.S. quarter is shown in the first two pictures, to give an accurate impression of the size at a glance.
It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, repairs, discoloration or lime scale.  There is a visible shear mark from when the glass was made, and some tiny bubbles are sealed inside the glass.  All my items are from a SMOKE FREE home.  Watch for the other fine antique and EAPG glass items I'm offering this week!
I pack all items in sturdy cartons with plenty of cushioning.  My shipping time is a HIGH estimate -- I can usually ship faster than the estimated time.  I am happy to combine shipping to save on postage IF doing so will not risk breakage of fragile items.  If you win more than one of my items, please wait for a revised invoice before sending payment.
