Original, authentic Lobby Card from the epic film “
    Grand Prix

This rare item is a true piece of history.
It shows actor Yves Montand, portraying French race driver “Jean-Pierre Sarti” winning the French Grand Prix.
Actor Antonio Sabato, portraying Italian driver and Ferrari teammate “Nino Barlini”, congratulates him along with actress Eva Marie Saint.
    This legendary 1966 film epic
is considered by most knowledgeable motorsport enthusiasts as the greatest racing film of all time.
Director John Frankenheimer was a passionate enthusiast of the first order.
He demanded a level of realism and authenticity that’s never been seen before or since in any other film. Using real Formula 1 World Champion Phil Hill as a camera car driver and having stars like James Garner and Yves Montand actually do their own stunt driving was just one example.
Legendary racing photographer Bernard Cahier served as a technical advisor and is thought to have done most if not all of the press photos for the film.
Cahier had been the preeminent professional photographer covering Grand Prix racing since 1952.
We have no way of knowing for sure that Cahier took the original photo that was used to create this particular Lobby Card, but it certainly seems likely given the general knowledge that Cahier was on retainer to do publicity photos for the film.
    This Lobby Card is an
    original
    and authentic item.
    It is
    not
    a copy or reproduction.
This particular Lobby Card is from the German market release of the film.

    Dimensions are 11.5” by 8.25”.
Condition is excellent; no tears, bends or staple holes of any kind.
