Description

This is a
vintage original 13x17 in. "country of origina" Mexican lobby card
from the popular 1960's adventure mystery,
SANTO CONTRA HOMBRES INFERNALES
(
Santo Vs. Infernal Men
), released in Mexico in 1961 and
directed by Joselito Rodriguez
, in which El Santo helps an undercover agent take down a gang of drug smugglers. The cast includes Joaquin Cordero, Gina Roman, Santo, Jorge Marx, and Fernando Osés.
This vintage original "country of origin" Mexican lobby card is unrestored in fine+ condition with approximately six creases of varying sizes across the right half of the top border (most of which go into various portions of the upper background area and credits) and random signs of light wear in the borders. There are no pinholes, tears, stains, or other flaws and the rich color tints are fresh and vibrant without any signs of fading.
Mexican lobby cards feature great designs in that they almost always feature a fairly good-quality black-and-white photographic image that is surround by artwork depicting either scenes or portrait images of the stars.
Rodolfo Guzmán Huerta
(September 23, 1917 – February 5, 1984), more widely known as El Santo, or in English The Saint, was a Mexican Luchador enmascarado (Spanish for masked professional wrestler), film actor, and folk hero. El Santo is one of the most famous and iconic Mexican luchadores, and has been referred to as one of "the greatest legends in Mexican sports." His wrestling career spanned nearly five decades, during which he became a folk hero and a symbol of justice for the common man through his appearances in lucha films and comic books telling fictionalized stories of El Santo fighting for justice. He starred or co-starred in at least 52 movies between 1958 and 1982.
